BIG BUILDING FOUNDATION
is a social enterprise organisation that seeks to serve local communities. It was set up in 2014 by Ronke Coote and Vanessa Freeman. Our vision is to see people grow in confidence, live free from constraints and live lives to their full potential.
OUR PLANS
A Bit of Background
We aim to run a Juice Bar, in Brickworks Community Centre, 42 Crouch Hill, London N4 4BY. The Bar will be staffed predominantly by young people between the ages of 16-24, who are not employed or in education. The Juice Bar will be a safe, stable, positive environment, where young people will receive encouragement and accredited training. The training on offer, will be in customer service, health and safety, hospitality, food and hygiene, life and employability skills. If the Juice Bar model, is successful at Brickworks Community Centre, there is the potential to run similar bars at the other thirteen community centres in the borough of Islington.
We seek to run a Women’s Hub two days a week at the Brickworks Community Centre, where women can drop in for free, to find out information and get advice on their rights and entitlements or to discuss any other issues, that they have concerns about. If Big Building Foundation are unable to inform or advise, then we can signpost them to other voluntary or statutory organisations who can. We aim to run support groups and workshops on parenting skills, domestic and sexual violence and peer mentoring.
